We had a direct database request in BI answers. When user click on report to see the output, BI was taking unusually long time just to show the clock to indicate query is working.
We found out, it the option ‘Bypass Oracle BI Presentation Services Cache’ that was adding a long delay. It wasn’t required, so removing it made the report work just fine.
