OBIEE 11g not showing/listing dashboard name for a new dashboard in the drop down menu

When creating New dashboard in  OBIEE 11g, we were faced with issue that dashboard name did not show up in drop down dashboard menu.

I did some research, and this is what I found:

1. When you create a new dashboard under 'Shared Dashboard', it displays a warning, that "This dashboard will not appear in the "Dashboards" menu"

2. To make the dashboard appear in the menu, after you create new dashboard under 'Shared Folders', click  New > Dashboard again, and select newly created dashboard in step one as the folder, then give a name. 

3. Now after you create it second time, it will show up in the list.

Hope that helps, very different than in 10g

OBIEE BI Dashboard tab missing

A user of mine created dashboards with two tabs in My Dashboard area, and had to delete one for some reason. He ended up with just one page on the dashboard, everything was working, but he didn’t though something was missing.

Turns out, it’s a BI feature, that if there is only one page on the dashboard, BI does not display tabs at the top.
